Southwestern Men's Tennis defeated McMurry 9-0 on March 18, 2023. The Pirates had a strong performance, sweeping every court.
Getting up 3-0 during doubles was crucial to the Pirates' success! Freshmen Bernardo Clemente and Parth Patel had an incredible match together at line two doubles performing very well! Seniors Drew Shuvalov and Steven Tibbetts also had a very impressive win at line three doubles. The energy was high across all courts creating a super positive and competitive atmosphere.
Entering singles up 3-0, the Pirates maintained the high and positive energy well without getting overly confident! The encouragement across the courts was electric. Sophomore Jared Burton had a smooth 6-1, 6-1 win at line four singles, followed by Bernardo Clemente winning 6-4, 7-5 at line one in an absolute battle, and Junior Ryan Flanagan winning 6-0, 6-1 at line three.
Once again, the Southwestern Men's Tennis team had an outstanding performance and got the win, 9-0.
