GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – Playing in three fall events apiece, the Southwestern University Men's and Women's Tennis programs recently wrapped up their fall slates at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships.
"The fall season gave both programs a great foundation heading into the spring," relayed head coach
Maggie Dabadie. "Our players continue to show growth, competitiveness, and a commitment to getting better every day. We are excited to carry that momentum into the offseason and look forward to seeing what both teams can accomplish this spring!"
In addition, Dabadie added
Spencer Richey to the coaching staff as an assistant. "We are excited to welcome
Spencer Richey to our coaching staff! Dabadie stated. "Spencer brings valuable experience as a Division I player at the University of Alabama and the University of Dayton. He spent the past year at Rhodes College as the men's and women's assistant coach, helping both programs achieve successful 2025–2026 seasons. We are excited about the playing and coaching experience he brings to our programs!"
The Pirates began their fall slate by hosting the SU Hidden Duels before traveling to Belton to compete in the Crusader Invitational, hosted by Mary-Hardin Baylor. Both teams concluded the fall with their ITA Championship event. The women traveled to San Antonio for their ITA Championships, competing on the campus of Trinity University and other local courts, while the men traveled to Abilene for their ITA event at Hardin-Simmons University.
