KERRVILLE, Texas — Southwestern women's tennis took two victories over Schreiner University and the Sul Ross Lady Lobos with scores of 8-1 and 9-0 in Kerrville on Saturday.
Stephanie Bartusov and
Nina Elez showed strength for women's doubles, winning 8-0, as well as
Esther Bowers and
Cecile Wilde who also won 8-0 against Sul Ross. Coach Billy Porter comments, "Stephanie filled in really well at #3 doubles with Nina and picked up some important wins in that position."
Poter also had praise for Bowers, who won 6-0 6-0 against Sul Ross and 6-0 6-1 against Schreiner in singles. "It was an outstanding homecoming for Esther to pick up four wins in her hometown of Kerrville."
Up next, women's tennis gets ready to play back at home against Howard Payne and the University of Texas at Dallas March 2. Matches will commence at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m in Georgetown, Texas.
