Pirates Collect SAA Honors Behind Locke, Cepeda, and Perkins

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University women's tennis saw three student-athletes recognized by the Southern Athletic Association for their efforts this season, led by seniors Daryl Locke and Isa Cepeda earning All-Conference honors in doubles, while sophomore Lilly Perkins was selected to the All-SAA Sportsmanship Team.

Locke and Cepeda secured SAA Second Team All-Conference Doubles honors after putting together an impressive season at the No. 1 position. The senior tandem posted a 19-3 overall record, including a strong 5-1 mark in conference play, consistently delivering key points for the Pirates against top competition.

One of the defining moments of their season came in a marquee matchup against No. 35 Haverford College. Facing a nationally ranked opponent, Locke and Cepeda rose to the occasion with a statement 6-4 victory, showcasing their composure, chemistry, and ability to compete at a high level. Their performance throughout the year established them as one of the most reliable and dangerous doubles teams in the SAA.

Perkins earned All-SAA Sportsmanship Team recognition after serving as a steady and dependable presence in the Pirates lineup. The junior competed in both singles and doubles throughout the season, embracing multiple roles while demonstrating respect, integrity, and leadership on the court.

The honors reflect the strength and character of the Southwestern program, with Locke, Cepeda, and Perkins each playing an important role in the team's success this season.
