ABILENE, Texas – The Southwestern University Pirates men's tennis team opened its spring season with a pair of wins over McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons.
Against McMurry, the Pirates swept singles competition in straight sets with Alexis Dimanche pulling out a tough win over Carlos Martinez, taking the first step in a tiebreaker (7-6) and taking the second 7-5.
Southwestern took two of three in doubles, with Alonso Fernandez and Alexis Dimanche defeating Connor Hogan and Zach Miller and Alexander Joseph and Jeremy Wilson defeating Joseph Diaz and Chris Causer.
