ABILENE, Texas — The No. 34-ranked Southwestern University Pirates women's tennis team defeated George Fox 9-0 on Friday afternoon. 

In singles competition, the Pirates ended all six matches in two sets with Mary Cardone defeating Jillian Studer 6-2 and 6-0 and Esther Bowers taking both sets over Laney Search 6-0. 

Cardone and Mariana Quetzeri defeated Danielle Brown and Sophia Lawrence in doubles. 

The Pirates will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 with a match against McMurry University at 10:00 a.m. and another one against Hardin-Simmons University at 4:00 p.m.
