No. 28 Pirates edge Hardin-Simmons, 5-4

ABILENE, Texas - The 28th-ranked Southwestern women's team edged Hardin-Simmons, 5-4, on Friday, increasing its win streak to 19.

The Pirates (19-1) won two of three doubles tilts to take the early lead. The Cowgirls battled in singles competition, but Southwestern captured three of six matchups to claim the contest.

Mary Cardone remained perfect in singles play, winning a 6-1, 6-4 decision at the top spot. Anna Schneemann logged a straight-sets victory at the third position, while Megan Hawkins notched a double-bagel win at No. 4 singles.

The Pirates will travel to San Antonio on Friday, April 21, to face Trinity.
