BELTON, Texas - The men's tennis team struggled in doubles matches but rebounded well to win three singles matches at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday afternoon.
D'Artagnan Bebel (pictured) and Alex Lam put up a great fight in #1 doubles but ultimately fell 8-5 while Andrew Clarage/Alexander Reinsch and Alec Bergerson/Andrew Olsson both fell 8-2 in their doubles matches.
Reinsch fell 6-2, 6-1 in #1 singles while Alex Lam breezed through his #2 singles matches, winning 6-0, 6-3.
Bebel played well in a hard fought #3 singles match but ultimately fell 7-6, 5-7, 6-2. Clarage got the Pirates back to their winning ways with a #4 singles win in three, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 and Bergerson kept it going in #5 singles, winning 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Olsson fell 6-4, 6-1 in #6 singles.
The Pirates continue to search for their first dual meet win of the spring. They host Howard Payne University on Saturday at 11am for their first home meet.
