Pirates Take Third at Greystone Classic, Gain Valuable SAA Championship Experience

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's golf team turned in a competitive showing at the Greystone Classic, held at Greystone Golf Course—the upcoming site of the SAA Conference Championship. The Pirates finished third out of four teams with a two-round total of 651, posting rounds of 330 and 321 (+75).

Junior Sydney Jackson led the way for Southwestern, carding rounds of 81 and 75 to finish at +12 overall and secure a sixth-place finish. Freshman Emily York followed closely, shooting 80 and 79 (+15) to place ninth in a strong collegiate field.

Senior Sloane Panter added a solid performance, finishing 18th after rounds of 84 and 83 (+23). Freshman Addi Peirce carded consistent rounds of 85 and 85 (+26), while senior Rachel Harris improved in her second round with an 84 after opening with a 91 to place 26th overall. Senior Mackenzie Brown rounded out the lineup with rounds of 93 and 89, finishing 27th.

As a team, the Pirates showed strength on the par-3 holes, leading the field with a +14 scoring average (3.29). Southwestern also totaled eight birdies and an impressive 110 pars across the two rounds.

Individually, Peirce excelled on par-3s, tying for third in the field with a 3.13 (+1) average. Jackson paced the team on par-5s, playing them at 5.25 (+2), while also leading the Pirates with four birdies. Panter stood out for her consistency, tying for first in the field with 23 total pars.

With experience now gained on the conference championship course, the Pirates will look to build on this performance as they prepare to return to Greystone for the SAA Championships later this season.
