GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University women's golf team competed at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Jekyll Island, Georgia from March 20–22, finishing 19th out of 24 teams with a three-round total of 983 (326, 329, 328). The Pirates showed resilience throughout the weekend, defeating three higher-ranked opponents in the field.
As a team, Southwestern tallied 124 pars and 10 birdies across the tournament. The Pirates ranked 15th on par 3s, 20th on par 4s, and 19th on par 5s, showcasing steady play across all phases of the course.
Freshman Emily York led the way for the Pirates with a 49th-place finish, posting rounds of 80, 81, and a team-best 78 to close the tournament at +23. York also paced the team with 34 pars over the three rounds.
Two Pirates finished tied for 79th, as freshman Anna Apisarnthanarax and senior Sloane Panter each carded +31 totals. Apisarnthanarax recorded rounds of 82, 83, and 82, while Panter turned in scores of 79, 84, and 84. Apisarnthanarax led the team on par 3s with a 3.25 scoring average (+3) and also recorded a team-high three birdies.
Junior Sydney Jackson finished in 91st place after rounds of 85, 81, and 85 (+35), while freshman Addi Pierce rounded out the lineup with scores of 96, 94, and 84 (+58), finishing in 115th place.
