GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's golf team competed at the Greystone Classic this week at Greystone Golf Course, the same venue that will host the upcoming SAA Conference Championship. The Pirates finished fourth in the four-team field, posting round scores of 294, 292, and 286 (+8) for a three-round total of 872.
Southwestern was led by Ethan Law, who delivered a strong performance across all three rounds. Law improved each day, carding rounds of 77, 73, and an impressive 67 to finish at +1 and in seventh place overall. His final round was highlighted by two eagles, helping him post one of the lowest rounds of the tournament.
Tyler Rosson followed in 11th place after rounds of 75, 71, and 73 (+3), while William Suell finished 13th with consistent rounds of 74, 74, and 72 (+4). Sam McClure placed 18th with rounds of 74, 75, and 74 (+7), and Ethan Bridges finished 20th after posting scores of 71, 78, and 75. Rounding out the lineup was Ricky Mitchell, who shot 79, 74, and 75 (+12) to finish in 22nd place.
As a team, the Pirates turned in several strong statistical performances throughout the tournament. Southwestern led the field on par 3s, playing them at an average of 3.07 (+5), and recorded a tournament-best three eagles. The team also totaled 54 birdies and 187 pars over the three rounds.
Individually, Mitchell, Law, and Rosson each tied for third in par-3 scoring at 2.92 (-1). McClure was among the top performers on par 5s, finishing tied for third at -6. Rosson paced the team with 14 birdies, while Suell led the way with 36 pars.
