Pirates Finish Fourth at West Region Invitational; Eye SAA Championships Next

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's golf team competed this week at the West Region Invitational, hosted at White Bluff Resort – Old Course. The Pirates' A Team placed fourth in the seven-team field with rounds of 309, 305, and 305 for a three-round total of 919 (+55), while the B Team finished fifth after posting rounds of 312, 324, and 298 for a total of 934 (+70).

Southwestern was paced by Ethan Bridges and William Suell, who each turned in consistent performances across all three rounds. The duo both carded scores of 75-75-76 to finish tied for 13th place. Carson Elder followed closely in a tie for 16th after rounds of 74-81-72, while Ricky Mitchell finished tied for 18th with scores of 77-79-73. Ethan Law placed tied for 24th, shooting 77-78-78.

Tyler Rosson and Jack Barber both finished tied for 26th. Rosson posted rounds of 83-77-75, while Barber recorded 81-81-73. Sam McClure finished 31st after rounds of 82-79-80, and Logan Cameron rounded out the Pirates' lineup in 32nd place with scores of 80-83-80.

As a team, Southwestern recorded three eagles during the tournament, with Suell accounting for two and Law adding one. The Pirates also totaled 64 birdies and 244 pars over the three rounds. Barber led the team in par-3 scoring at even par, Elder paced the group on par-4s at +5 (4.17 scoring average), and Suell led on par-5s at -5 (4.58 scoring average). Elder also led the team with 31 pars across the tournament.
