GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's golf team competed this week at the SAA Conference Tournament, finishing sixth in the field with rounds of 301, 284, and 288 for a three-round total of 873 (+9).
Southwestern was led by Ethan Bridges, who delivered a strong and steady performance across all three rounds. The senior carded scores of 74, 69, and 72 to finish with a 215 (-1), earning a tie for 10th place. Bridges' performance also earned him Second Team All-Conference honors. Sam McClure followed closely behind, posting rounds of 76, 69, and 71 to finish at even par (216), tying for 13th overall, and also earning Second Team All-Conference recognition. Ethan Law turned in a consistent showing with scores of 74, 73, and 72, finishing tied for 20th at 219 (+3).
William Suell added rounds of 77, 73, and 73 to finish 31st overall with a 223 (+7). Ricky Mitchell and Tyler Rosson rounded out the lineup for the Pirates, with both players tying for 35th at 231 (+15). Mitchell recorded rounds of 77, 78, and 76, while Rosson posted scores of 79, 74, and 78.
As a team, the Pirates generated solid scoring opportunities throughout the tournament, totaling 45 birdies and 204 pars across the three rounds. McClure led the team on par-4 scoring at -3 (3.90 average), while Bridges excelled on par-5s, finishing tied for third at -5 with a 4.58 scoring average. Bridges also paced the Pirates with 11 total birdies, while Law led the team with 36 pars across the tournament. Southwestern's balanced effort was highlighted by a strong second-round performance and consistent play across the lineup against a competitive SAA field.Â
