GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Women's tennis was in Belton, Texas competing in the UMHB Invitational from Thursday, September 18th-20th. It was a weekend of standout performances, depth, and growth for the Pirates, setting a firm foundation as they prepare for ITA Regionals which starts this week.

Kimberly Duncan, Katia Childs, and Addison Powell each won two of their three singles matches. Childs stood out with back-to-back three-set victories, showing poise and composure in decisive tiebreakers

Southwestern advanced two of its three doubles teams to the finals of their draws. In Draw A, Isabella Cepeda and Daryl Locke went toe-to-toe with UMHB's top team before falling 6-8 in a close final. In Draw B, Katia Childs and Lilly Perkins reached the Draw B final match before coming up short
