GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Men's tennis team hit the road for a conference match up down in Kerrville, Texas where they faced the Schreiner University Mountaineers. The Pirates swept the singles matches, and only dropped one doubles match during the day. The Pirates defeat the Mountaineers 7-0, and are now undefeated in conference play!

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

• Bernardo Clemente and Ashton Ellis came through with a huge singles/doubles sweep for the Pirates. Clemente won his singles match 6-0, 6-1, while Ellis finished his singles match with a final of  6-3, 6-4

• Senior Jared Burton and freshman Porter Arens both came back after their doubles match loss and won their singles matches - Burton 6-1, 6-0 & Arens 6-0, 6-1

MATCH NOTES

• The Pirates controlled the courts as no matches were forced into a tie breaker set

• Freshman Christopher Langford helped the Pirates sweep the Mountaineers with a doubles/singles win in the No.5 spot

• Southwestern will be at home to face Carnegie Mellon University in a non conference match on Thursday, March 6th at 5:00 PM.
