GEORGETOWN, TEXAS — The Southwestern University women's swimming team delivered an impressive weekend performance, opening with a dominant 166–42 dual-meet victory over Austin College on Friday evening at Hannah Natatorium. The Pirates captured 12 of 13 events, highlighted by multiple event sweeps and standout individual performances. Southwestern carried that momentum into Saturday's competition, earning a commanding 150–85 win over Division II opponent UT Permian Basin at the City of Midland Aquatics Center. The Pirates recorded 10 event victories, including several sweeps and season-best performances across multiple events.

MEET #1 HIGHLIGHTS – TOP FINISHES 

• 400 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Anna Kate Goodson, Amber Chien, Victoria Crews, and Elizabeth Krajca opened the meet with a win in 4:17.25, giving the Pirates early momentum

• 1000 Yard Freestyle – Mallory DeArmond placed first with a time of 11:23.38, adding key points in the distance events

• 200 Yard Freestyle – Chelsea Chavez led a 1–2–3 Southwestern finish, touching in 2:05.02 ahead of teammates Delaney Alt and Ava Goodwill

• 100 Yard Backstroke – Niva Maskey won in 1:03.55, followed by Wallen and Crews for another top-three sweep

• 100 Yard Breaststroke – Cece Sullivan took first in 1:14.48, with Vargas and Richeson securing second and third

• 100 Yard Freestyle – Sullivan earned her second win of the night, finishing in 56.23 to lead a Pirate sweep

• 200 Yard Backstroke – Krajca claimed the top spot in 2:22.39, extending Southwestern's team lead

• 200 Yard Breaststroke – Wallen finished first in 2:38.85, followed by Bentley in second as the Pirates went 1–2

• 500 Yard Freestyle – DeArmond picked up her second individual win with a time of 5:32.35

• 100 Yard Butterfly – Richeson secured the victory in 1:03.67, ahead of Chavez and Goodwill

• 200 Yard IM – Chien and Krajca tied for first place with identical times of 2:23.32

• 200 Yard Freestyle Relay – The team of Bentley, Goodwill, Vargas, and Sullivan closed out the meet with a winning time of 1:45.74. 

MEET NOTES 

•  Southwestern recorded 12 event victories and five podium sweeps

• Sullivan and DeArmond each earned two individual wins and contributed critical team points

• Chien and Krajca shared a first-place tie in the 200 IM and swam key relay legs

• The Pirates' depth and consistency across all events continued to drive early-season success. 

MEET #2 HIGHLIGHTS - TOP FINISHES

• 1000 Yard Freestyle – Alexis Bolte (11:45.27) and Delaney Alt (11:57.91) finished first and second to open the meet with maximum points for Southwestern

• 200 Yard Freestyle – Elizabeth Krajca claimed first in 2:00.81, followed by DeArmond in third at 2:04.64

• 100 Yard Backstroke – Anna Kate Goodson took first place in 1:06.69, extending the Pirates' early lead

• 100 Yard Breaststroke – Amber Chien won in 1:10.73, while Wallen and Allison followed in second and third for a clean sweep

• 200 Yard Butterfly – Chelsea Chavez led a 1–2–3 finish for Southwestern with a time of 2:20.70, followed by Richeson and Vargas

• 50 Yard Freestyle – Cece Sullivan won a tight race in 25.55, narrowly out-touching UTPB's Avery Momotiuk

• 500 Yard Freestyle – Krajca earned her second win of the day, clocking 5:33.29 with Chavez and Bolte close behind for another sweep

• 200 Yard IM – Sarah Wallen placed second with a 2:23.13, while Bentley and Richeson finished third and fourth

• 400 Yard Freestyle Relay – The team of Bentley, Goodwill, Vargas, and Sullivan closed the meet with a victory in 3:48.28. 

MEET NOTES

• The Pirates captured 10 event wins and multiple podium sweeps

• Krajca, Sullivan, and Chavez each earned multiple top finishes

• Strong individual and relay performances powered Southwestern past UTPB for its second consecutive dual-meet victory.
