GEORGETOWN, TEXAS — The Southwestern University men's swimming team opened the weekend with a decisive 126–84 dual-meet victory over Austin College on Friday evening at Hannah Natatorium. The Pirates captured nine of 13 events, fueled by dominant relay performances and multiple individual event sweeps. On Saturday, Southwestern faced Division II opponent UT Permian Basin at the City of Midland Aquatics Center, falling 178–59 in a competitive meet that featured several podium finishes and season-best times.
MEET #1 HIGHLIGHTS – TOP FINISHES

400 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Talon Welch, Braxton McKinney, Tim Young, and Amani Singh opened the meet with a win in 3:45.18, posting the fastest relay time by over five seconds

200 Yard Freestyle – Andrew Renninger touched first in 1:49.59, leading from start to finish to secure an early Southwestern advantage

100 Yard Breaststroke – Sebastian Cortinas won the event in 1:02.77, followed closely by McKinney (1:04.02) and Owen Rodrigue (1:04.18) as the Pirates swept the podium

50 Yard Freestyle – Luke Lawhon out-touched the field to take first in 22.57, narrowly edging Austin's Kamil Murugan

500 Yard Freestyle – Renninger earned his second individual victory of the night, clocking 5:04.86, with Rodrigue close behind in 5:12.40 for a Southwestern 1–2 finish.

200 Yard Backstroke – Welch posted a strong 2:13.29 to claim first place, continuing the Pirates' dominance in the mid-distance events

200 Yard Freestyle Relay – The quartet of Cortinas, Rodrigue, Renninger, and Jonas Eaton closed out the meet with a commanding win in 1:29.43, sealing the team victory for Southwestern.
