GEORGETOWN, TEXAS — The Southwestern University men's swimming and diving team continued competition Friday at the SAA Championships, hosted by Centre College in Danville, as the Pirates produced A-final performances, multiple scoring swims, and key relay finishes during day three of the championship meet. Preliminary races began at 10:00 a.m. before finals took place at 6:00 p.m.

Southwestern opened finals action with a scoring performance in the 100 Yard Butterfly, where sophomore Tim Young competed in the B final and finished 14th overall with a time of 51.05

The Pirates saw one of their top swims of the night in the 400 Yard Individual Medley, as senior Andrew Renninger advanced to the A final and placed sixth overall in 4:10.43. Senior James Cosman added points with a 16th-place finish, touching in 4:29.28.

In the 100 Yard Breaststroke, sophomore Luke Lawhon posted a strong swim to place 13th overall in 58.59, while the 100 Yard Backstroke featured two Pirate scorers. Senior Owen Rodrigue finished 10th in 51.99, and sophomore Talon Welch added a 16th-place finish in 54.97.

Southwestern capped the evening with solid relay performances in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. The A relay team of Rodrigue, Lawhon, Young, and freshman Sebastian Cortinas secured a fifth-place finish in 3:28.81. The B relay of Renninger, freshman Braxton McKinney, freshman Amani Singh, and senior Jonas Eaton followed with a 13th-place showing in 3:37.39.
