GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Women's Swimming opened the 2025–2026 season in dominant fashion, sweeping all 13 events to defeat the University of St. Thomas 191–34 at Walzel Natatorium. The Pirates delivered a flawless performance from start to finish, showcasing elite depth across all strokes and distances.

HIGHLIGHTS – FIRST PLACE FINISHES

• 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Niva Maskey, Amber Chien, Jaclyn Vargas, and Cece Sullivan set the tone early with a win in 1:56.62.
• 200 Yard Freestyle – Mallory DeArmond led a 1–2–3–4 Pirate sweep, taking first in 2:05.41.
• 100 Yard Backstroke – Sarah Wallen claimed victory with a time of 1:05.21, followed closely by teammate Elizabeth Krajca.
• 100 Yard Breaststroke – Amber Chien took first in 1:12.14, extending the Pirates' early lead.
• 50 Yard Butterfly – Jaclyn Vargas sprinted to the wall first in 28.35.
• 50 Yard Freestyle – Cece Sullivan edged out teammates for the win in 26.07, capping another Southwestern sweep.
• 100 Yard Freestyle – Elizabeth Krajca earned the win in 56.77.
• 50 Yard Backstroke – Avery Allison clocked a winning time of 31.58.
• 50 Yard Breaststroke – Cece Sullivan doubled up with another win in 34.06.
• 500 Yard Freestyle – Chelsea Chavez cruised to first in 5:45.06.
• 100 Yard Butterfly – Niva Maskey topped the field in 1:04.47.
• 200 Yard IM – Kylie Richeson led a 1–2–3 finish with a time of 2:23.75.
• 200 Yard Freestyle Relay – The quartet of Elizabeth Krajca, Ava Goodwill, Delaney Alt, and Victoria Crews sealed the sweep with a 1:46.22 finish.

NOTES

• The Pirates swept the top three in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 50 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 100 yard butterfly, and 200 IM.
• Southwestern's 13-for-13 performance marks a perfect season opener at home.
• First-year swimmers Crews, Goodwill, and Chavez made immediate impacts in their collegiate debuts.
