Pirates Post Strong Showing, Finish Fourth in Competitive Golfweek Field

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's golf team turned in an impressive showing at the Golfweek October Classic, finishing fourth out of 24 teams in a highly competitive field. The Pirates posted team rounds of 285, 292, and 285 for a total score of 862 (+10), marking one of their strongest performances of the fall season.

The Pirates were led by senior Ethan Bridges, who fired rounds of 68, 68, and 71 to finish at 6-under par and claim a T2nd place finish individually. Behind him, sophomore William Suell carded rounds of 73, 76, and 70 to place T30th at +6. Junior Sam McClure followed in T51st with scores of 68, 79, and 75 (+9). Sophomore Ethan Law recorded rounds of 80, 72, and 72 to finish in T67th at +11, while junior Ricky Mitchell matched that total with consistent rounds of 76, 76, and 72 (+11) to round out the scoring for Southwestern.

As a team, Southwestern collected 157 pars and 51 birdies over the three rounds. Bridges led the entire tournament field in par-3 scoring, playing them at 5-under (2.67 average)—a standout stat in the strong field.
