GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Soccer is back on the pitch in two months as the 2026 schedule features 11 home games at Varsity Field and six away games. The season is culminated by the SAA Conference Tournament, which is hosted by Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. This year's SAA Tournament is expanded to eight teams with the new addition of Maryville College to the SAA.

The 2026 is squad is hungry, looking to avenge their loss in the SAA Tournament Final last season which led to the Pirates missing the NCAA Tournament by an extremely narrow margin. The 2025 squad recorded the most wins in program history with a 15-2-3 overall record. The Pirates went 17 straight games without a loss, taking care of business in non-conference play at 9-0-3, along with coming in second in conference play at 6-1.

Southwestern departs only three seniors from the 2025 squad, returning 77% of the minutes played. However, those three holes were pivotal players including Raghav Sharma, Greyson Pinto, and Scott Johnson. Sharma became the second All-American in program history with eight goals and 11 shutouts (school record), while Pinto's name was everywhere with seven goals and eight assists. Johnson left as the all-time leader in career and season save percentage between the pipes. The trio will be tough to replace, but the Pirates young core was never afraid of the moments and have adopted the senior leaders ambition, continuing to improve all offseason.

Eight starters from the 2025 team return along with majority of the deep bench the Pirates love to use who all have one goal to win conference. Four All-SAA honorees return including senior Cooper Pero, junior Quinn MacLeod, junior Danny Wasserman, and junior Ross Anderson. Along with multiple key Pirates who will step into bigger roles including: senior Nico Colegrove, sophomore Grey Richards, sophomore Anthony Peacher, senior Landon Guenther, junior Alessandro Sosa, junior Daniel Sartorio, and junior Amar Singh, and more.

The squad will compete in three August exhibitions with the season opener on September 1 at home against McMurry University. The league expansion has called for eight regular season SAA games as the top eight teams advance to the tournament in a single-elimination format, needing to win three games.
