MSOC Garners Six CSC Academic All-District Honors

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Men's Soccer team earned six College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Awards this week, receiving all six available nominations. The 2025 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. 

The Pirates members recognized were senior Greyson Pinto, senior Raghav Sharma, senior Scott Johnson, sophomore Danny Wasserman, sophomore Amar Singh, and sophomore Quinn MacLeod

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District an athlete must have these qualifications:

  • Student-Athletes are nominated by their head coach and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
  • Institutions may only nominate six athletes for CSC Academic All-District Awards in men's soccer.
  • An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
  • The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
  • Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests.
Athletically, all six athletes played a massive role in the program record 15 wins. Pinto finished his career with 17 goals and 17 assists. 2025 was a career year with eight goals and eight assists in a First Team All-SAA season. Sharma will dominated the back line his entire career, along with entering elite company as a scorer with 23 career goals. The senior scored the most career goals since Jake Swonke in 2015-18. Sharma was named the SAA Defender of the Year. Johnson earned First Team All-SAA with ten shutouts and a program-best 15 wins. Johnson also finished his career as the program leader in career save percentage at .855. 

MacLeod created a high percentage of the Pirates chances this season with a high motor and skill from the flank. The sophomore started all 21 games with five goals and four assists as a Second Team All-SAA. Wasserman also garnered Second Team All-SAA honors with a career high five goals and two game-winners. Singh was the unsung hero for the Pirates back line, dominating in 21 games started.
