GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University men's tennis swept the Southern Athletic Association Athlete of the Week honors following a dominant weekend in conference play, highlighted by standout performances in both singles and doubles competition.
Sophomore Porter Arens earned Singles Athlete of the Week after going a perfect 2–0 at the No. 2 position. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native opened the weekend with an impressive 6–3, 6–0 victory over Berry, controlling the match from start to finish with consistent baseline play and sharp shot-making. Arens followed that performance with another straight-set win against Oglethorpe, 6–4, 6–2, showing composure in key moments and the ability to close out tight sets. His contributions at a critical spot in the lineup played a key role in the Pirates' conference success.
In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of Joseph Snyman and Christo Langford was recognized as SAA Doubles team of the Week after a flawless 2–0 weekend. The duo secured back-to-back 6–2 victories over Berry College and Oglethorpe, demonstrating strong chemistry and control at the top position. Their consistent play and ability to dictate matches early helped Southwestern gain momentum in doubles action. With the pair's continued dominance, Snyman and Langford have now extended their winning streak to seven consecutive matches at line one doubles, further establishing themselves as one of the most reliable tandems in the conference.
Arens, Snyman, and Langford's performances were instrumental in Southwestern's strong showing over the weekend, as the Pirates continue to build momentum in SAA play.
