SAN MARCOS, TEXAS - Southwestern University Women's Track & Field competed in the two-day Charles Austin Classic at Texas State University on Friday and Saturday.
Junior
Ella Lewis was the Pirates highlighting achievement, shattering the school record in the Long Jump event with a distance of 5.59 meters. Lewis surpassed the previous record with ease which previously stood at 5.32 meters in a massive day from the junior.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Multiple different levels were represented at this year's Charles Austin Classic.
- Senior Katelin Pilarski finished the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.56.
- Sophomore Jaycee Green placed seventh in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 41.04 meters, inching closer to her 2025 school record of 44.30 meters.
- The Javelin Throw had Pirates all over the leaderboard. Freshman JP Seabolt tossed a distance of 32.81 meters, while senior Sydney Braun finished right behind in sixth at 32.29 meters.
- Senior Breanna Steele excelled in the 1,500-meter event. Steele recorded a time of 4:39.94, which was only one second off her own school record.
UP NEXT
Southwestern takes on the Texas Relays next Wednesday-Saturday. The Pirates also compete in the Trinity Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
