Lewis, Nowlin, & Steele Collect USTFCCCA All-Region Accolades

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Track & Field featured three athletes on the USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region list this year including: junior Ella Lewis, junior Lukas Nowlin, and senior Breanna Steele

The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end descending order lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West. 

Lewis garners her fourth straight All-Region in the past two years, counting Indoor and Outdoor seasons as a steady impact for the Women's squad. The junior earned the nod for her Long Jump efforts, ranking fourth in the West Region. At the Charles Austin Classic, Lewis recorded a school record distance of 5.59-Meters which was her best performance of the season. 

Nowlin collects two All-Region nods, ranking first in the West Region High Jump and second in the Long Jump. Nowlin continues to shine in the brightest moments, winning another High Jump SAA title along with placing third in the Long Jump. The following meet, Nowlin broke the High Jump school record at 2.10-Meters which clinched another spot in the NCAA DIII Championships on Saturday. The junior ranks sixth in the nation entering the meet as he looks to win the title after a fifth place finish in the Indoor Championships. 

Steele had a historical season earning her third All-Region accolade in the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase after an incredible school record performance in her final meet of 11:01.96. The senior went a perfect two for two at the SAA Championships, winning the 1,500-Meter event and the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase. Steele leaves Southwestern with seven school records along with being a fantastic leader on and off the track. She was recognized last week Southwestern's Female Athlete of the Year.
