GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Women's Golf team traveled to Houston, Texas, where they competed at the Space City Classic on March 9–10. The Pirates finished second in the six-team field, posting rounds of 336 and 326 for a total of 662 (+94). Southwestern showed steady improvement between rounds and strong course management throughout the tournament, highlighted by their first-place finish in par-3 scoring (3.63) while also totaling seven birdies and 71 pars as a team.
The Pirates were led by freshman Emily York, who finished third overall after carding rounds of 78 and 81 (+17). York also ranked second in the field in birdies with three during the tournament. Close behind was freshman Anna Apisarnthanarax, who placed fourth after posting scores of 83 and 77 (+18). Apisarnthanarax led the entire field in par-3 scoring, playing them at even par, and also recorded a tournament-best 21 pars.
Junior Sydney Jackson added a top-10 performance for Southwestern, finishing eighth with rounds of 84 and 79 (+21). Freshman Marris Harris followed in 13th place after shooting 86 and 81 (+25) and led the Pirates on par-5 scoring, finishing those holes at +1 for the tournament. Freshman Addi Pierce placed 16th with rounds of 83 and 85 (+26), while senior Sloane Panter finished 21st after carding 91 and 81 (+30). Senior Rachel Harris rounded out the lineup with rounds of 95 and 87 (+40) to place 27th overall.
Southwestern's balanced lineup and steady scoring helped secure the runner-up finish, with multiple Pirates finishing near the top of the leaderboard and leading the field in key statistical categories.
