Women's T&F Placed 6th At SAA Indoors, Steele Collects Medal In Mile Event

DANVILLE, KENTUCKY - Southwestern Women's Track & Field battled at the SAA Indoor Championships, placing sixth with 27 points. 

Senior Breanna Steele was the Pirates best finish, garnering third and a podium-finish in the mile event with a time of 5:13.45. The senior adds another accolade to an already decorated college career. 

TOP PERFORMANCES
  • Sophomore Jaycee Green added five pivotal points to the leaderboard in the Weight Throw at 14.62 meters. 
  • The 4000M Distance Medley Relay team of freshman Addison Jackson, freshman Secilia Salzmann-Ledesma, sophomore Triniti Gray, and Steele placed fifth at 12:54.41. 
  • Senior Leandra Motelet totaled a point for an eighth place finish in the Pole Vault at 2.95M. The mark tied her own school record. 
  • Freshman JP Seabolt earned her first career conference point, placing eigth in the Shot Put event at 11.37M. 
  • Junior Ella Lewis took fifth in the Triple Jump event at 11.14M. Lewis reset her own school record by 0.03M. 
  • Steele's podium finish in the mile added six points to the leaderboard. 
  • Senior Katelin Pilarski earned points in two events. Pilarski placed seventh in the 60M at 7.95, while finishing eighth in the 200M at 26.67.

Southwestern shifts to the CenTex Invite at Southwestern University next Saturday as the Pirates also celebrate Senior Day.
