Six Different Pirates Combine To Shatter Three Records In Houston

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Southwestern University Track & Field earned another strong weekend at the FasTrak Athletix Last Chance Meet, posting three track school records. 

SCHOOL RECORDS
  • 60M - Senior Katelin Pilarski earned back-to-back school record weekend performances after her 55m performance last weekend. The senior turned in a time of 7.87 in the 60-meter dash on Saturday. 
  • 5,000M - Sophomore Isabel Sainz had an incredible performance in the 5,000-meter heat, finishing seventh among a large field with a time of 19.21.24. Her time demolished the previous school record in the event of 20:24.48. 
  • Distance Medley Relay - Senior Emily Chaires, freshman Addison Jackson, sophomore Triniti Gray, and sophomore Sylvia Baldwin finished with a time of 13:39.45. The previous record time was 14:08.75. 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Pilarski was only 0.04 seconds off the 200-meter school record with a time of 26.50. 
  • Freshman Secilia Salzmann-Ledesma led the Pirates in 400-meter dash at 1:04.92. 
  • Junior Abigayle Stubby-Kern finished 15th among the field in the 5,000-meter event with a time of 20:17.74, which ranks second among the event school record. 
  • Sophomore Jaycee Green posted a mark of 11.87m in the shot put. Green also finished sixth in the weight throw at 14.13m. 
UP NEXT
Southwestern set their sights on the SAA Indoor Championships in Danville, Kentucky on February 27-28th.
