LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA - Southwestern Women's Track and Field made an impactful debut to the 2026 indoor season, competing in the McNeese Indoor II & Multis, hosted by McNeese State University.
INDOOR SCHOOL RECORDS
- School Record - junior Ella Lewis, triple jump, 11.11m
- Lewis shatters her own personal best in the triple jump, which was previously 11.03. The effort shatters the school record, along with winning the entire event.
- School Record - sophomore Jaycee Green, Weight Throw, 15.30m
- Green broke her own record by a massive margin as her previous best was 13.35m last season. The sophomore finished third in the event among 19 competitors, only being beaten by Division I competitors.
- School Record - sophomore Triniti Gray, 600m, 1:44.81
- Gray reset her own school record in the 600m on Friday by just under a second. The sophomore finished fifth among 21 competitors.
- School Record - senior Leandra Motelet, Pole Vault, 2.95m
- Motelet takes down the previous record by 0.25m. The senior has higher distances in outdoor season, but now holds the record in both indoor and outdoor.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Senior Katelin Pilarski excelled in the 55m, placing fourth (7.59). Junior Elia Gnoa-Guei finished behind at sixth (8.12) in the finals.
- Freshman Emma Sanchez placed third overall in the 55m hurdles (9.84) as the best Pirate in the event for the short time of competing in the 55m hurdles.
- Green also placed third in the shot put event (11.73m) among 18 competitors.
