GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Golf were one of two SCAC squads to garner the prestigious GCAA Platform Golf Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 season. The Pirates and Texas Lutheran University were the representatives from the last year in the conference. 

The Pirates were just one of 24 NCAA Division III teams to earn the Presidents Special Recognition Award for maintaining a team GPA above 3.5. Five golfers from the squad were recognized last week individually as GCAA Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars. The five Pirates were senior Matthew Peesker, senior Bryce Stiemert, junior Ethan Bridges, sophomore Sam McClure, and sophomore Ricky Mitchell. 

Southwestern dominated the honors among the conference as the Pirates earned five of the eight SCAC honors.
