GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Track and Field is officially under 30 days until the first meet of the 2026 slate. Both the men and women share the same schedule, competing in the Southern Athletic Association for the first season.Â
The squads the Pirates will be competing against in the indoor and outdoor SAA Championships are Centre College, Trinity University, Berry College, Rhodes College, Oglethorpe University, Maryville College, Sewanee, and Millsaps College. Southwestern has plenty of motivation after being picked to finish fifth in the women's preseason poll and sixth in the men's.Â
Head Coach
Kenneth Eboh enter his sixth full season at the helm. Eboh added a pivotal piece to the staff a month ago in
Lauren Taubert. Taubert is a former four-time All-American at Kansas University, along with competing in the Olympic Trials as she brings an abundance of experience and teaching.Â
Southwestern starts the indoor season in Houston once again, competing in the FasTrak Athletix Indoor Invitational (Jan. 24) at University of Houston. Next weekend, both squads head to the McNeese Indoor II & Multi (Jan. 29-30) in Lake Charles, Lousiana. The Pirates return to Houston at the FasTrak Collegiate Last Chance (Feb. 7), before taking on the big stage at the SAA Indoor Championships (Feb. 27-28) in Danville, Kentucky at Centre. Finally, the Pirates hope to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships (Mar. 13-14).Â
The outdoor season starts with the highly-anticipated CenTex Invite (Mar. 7), which is hosted on campus in the lone home meet. Next, the Pirates take on back-to-back Saturday meets at the UT Arlington Meet (Mar. 14) and the DIII Challenge (Mar. 21) at Texas Lutheran University.Â
Southwestern takes on four multi-day meets including the Angelo State David Noble Relays (Mar. 26-27, hosted by Angelo State), Texas Relays (Apr. 1-4, hosted by University of Texas), Trinity Invitational (Apr. 3-4), and the McMurry Warhawk Classic (Apr. 10-11). Then, Southwestern culminates their efforts at the SAA Outdoor Championships (Apr. 23-26, hosted by Berry) in Mount Berry, Georgia.Â
