Cooper Pero wins his second SAA Defensive Player of the Week honor of the year. Pero winning the award marks the fifth time Southwestern has garnered the Defensive Player of the Week Honor.
Pero scored three goals in two matches, only allowing one goal. The junior shinned on Friday with two goals, beating his mark on set pieces in the box. Pero and the Pirates defense secured an all-time program record 11 shutouts on Friday. More importantly, the squad stayed undefeated at 14-0-3 overall with a chance to win the conference regular season title at Trinity University on Saturday with a win or draw.
