GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Golfweek October Classic with a 15th-place finish out of 24 highly competitive teams. The Pirates posted team rounds of 313, 314, and 328 for a total score of 955, showcasing steady play throughout the week against a deep field in Destin, Florida.
The women's golf team turned in a solid performance led by freshman Anna Apisarnthanarax, who continued her strong fall campaign with rounds of 77, 76, and 79 (+16) to finish in a tie for 36th place. Senior Rachel Harris followed in T56th with rounds of 84, 80, and 79 (+26), while junior Sydney Jackson tied for 58th after posting consistent rounds of 79, 79, and 86 (+28). Senior Sloane Panter finished T67th with rounds of 77, 79, and 90 (+30), and freshman Emily York rounded out the lineup in T80th, recording rounds of 80, 84, and 85 (+33).
As a team, the Pirates carded 130 pars and 28 birdies over the three-day event. Emily York led Southwestern in par-3 scoring, playing them at +1 for the tournament, while Apisarnthanarax topped the team in par-5 scoring, also at +1. Apisarnthanarax led the Pirates with 31 total pars, and Panter paced the squad in birdies with eight across her three rounds.
