GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Pirates turned in a strong showing at the Legends Cup in Kingsland, Texas finishing third out of seven teams with rounds of 322 and 319 for a two-day total of 641 (+65). The performance highlighted the team's consistency across the tournament as they secured a spot in the top half of the field.Â
The women's golf team turned in a solid performance this week, highlighted by junior Sydney Jackson who captured the individual title with back-to-back rounds of 77. (+10). Jackson's consistent play led the Pirates and secured her top honors. Senior Rachel Harris followed with a top-10 finish, placing 10th overall after shooting 79, 81 (+16). Freshman Anna Apisarnthanarax tied for 16th with rounds of 82, 80 (+18). Fellow freshman Emily York was close behind, tying for 18th with scores of 84, 81 (+21), while senior Mackenzie Brown shot 86, 85 (+27) to finish in a tie for 29th. Freshman Maris Harris recorded rounds of 88, 84 (+28), landing in a tie for 31st. Senior Isabella Valenzuela finished 36th with scores of 90, 86 (+32), and freshman Addi Pierce placed 42nd after shooting 90, 95 (+41). Rounding out the Pirates' lineup was freshman Avery Barnes, who finished 44th with rounds of 99, 98 (+53).
The Pirates turned in a strong statistical performance, collecting 8 birdies and 87 pars over the two-day event. The team led the field in par-3 scoring, playing them at +11 with an average of 3.27. Jackson and York were standouts on the par 3s, each finishing even-par—the best in the field. The team ranked third in par-4 scoring with a 4.59 average (+59) and finished fourth on the par 5s, averaging 5.67 (+27). Notably, three different Pirates tied for third overall in par-5 scoring, each playing them at 5.25 (+2) for the tournament. The well-rounded effort across all areas highlights both individual excellence and team consistency.
