GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Softball (0-6) host the Cowgirls of Hardin-Simmons (5-1)  for a doubleheader at Taylor-Sanders Field on Saturday, February 24, 2024 starting at 1:00PM. After scoring three runs, the Pirates found themselves down by one run as they went into the final inning. The Cowgirls were able to score two runs win game one, 6-3. Hardin-Simmons went on a great run, scoring in five straight innings and the Pirates could not answer in Game 2. The Cowgirls would win the second game of the DH 7-4. 

HIGHLIGHTS

• Brooke Yanta, Alexandria Wiley, and Jodi-Glenn-Millhouse led the Pirates with 2 Hits each, all coming from Game 1. 
• Meghan McCarthy homered to deep, right field in Game 2 and led the Pirates with 3 RBI's in Game 2. 
• Calle Collier , Ashtyn Aldrete , Jodi Glenn-Millhouse , Riley Glenn-Millhouse , Daniella Clark, and Brooke Yanta each earned a stolen base for the series. 

NOTES 

• The Pirates had 19 left on base for the series compared to 12 for HSU
• Southwestern finished with more hits than Hardin-Simmons for both games, 20-18

Southwestern Softball returns to action Tuesday, February 27th, traveling for a doubleheader versus Concordia Texas starting at 4:00 PM.
