SEGUIN, Texas – Southwestern closed their 2017 campaign in the SCAC Championship game, falling to #5 Texas Lutheran University 3-0 Sunday.

TLU plated one run in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings while holding Southwestern out of scoring position for the majority of the contest.

Celeste Silvas led offensively, going 2-3 while Kaitlynn Copher, Marissa Irvin and Taylor Curtis also logged hits.

Longuet suffered the loss to end the year with a 15-7 record on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

Copher, Silvas and Longuet were all named to the SCAC All-Tournament Team for their play over the weekend.

Southwestern ends the season with a 27-13 overall record.
