Offensive surge propels Pirates to 74-58 win over Dallas

GEORGETOWN, Texas – After a slow start Southwestern heated up offensively, shooting 60% from three point range in a 74-58 win over the University of Dallas in Saturday's SCAC action.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Dallas hit the offensive glass hard early and built a 13-2 lead. With 12 points from Connor Kim from deep Southwestern pulled within one, 23-21 with 7:18 remaining in the first.
  • By halftime the Pirates pushed their lead to seven, 38-31, ending the half on a 9-0 run.
  • Midway through the second half Southwestern's lead ballooned to 25, 62-37.
  • The deficit proved insurmountable for the Crusaders as Southwestern closed out the game for the win.

UP NEXT

Southwestern improves to 5-9 on the year and 2-1 in the SCAC after the win. They return to the road to face Schreiner University (6-6, 0-1) on Friday in Kerrville at 6 pm.
