Box Score 2 Texas Lutheran posted a steady stream of runs while holding the Pirates' bats quiet on Friday as Southwestern fell 6-0, 9-2 in Seguin.
After two scoreless innings in game one TLU posted two runs in teh third and four in the sixth while holding the Pirates to just four hits in the contest.
Grissom stayed perfect in the win for TLU win a 13-0 record on the mound while Cozette Palmer suffered the loss. Michele Ramos was the only Pirate to post multiple hits, going 2-3 from the plate.
Game two started the same way with scoreless first and second innings, but this time TLU unloaded for four runs in the third. After the Bulldogs posted one more in the fifth Southwestern was able to push across two by taking advantage of three Bulldog errors. TLU was able to extend their lead with one in the fifth and three in the sixth while keeping SU from adding to their total.
Palmer suffered the loss again in game two while Pizana posted the win. Sydney Oorlog and Marissa Irvin each had one hit.
Southwestern falls to 16-16 on the year and 12-6 in the SCAC after the losses. The two teams will close the series on Saturday with a double-header beginning at 1 p.m.
