After one day of competition at the UMHB Spring Invitational in Temple, TX the men's Pirate golf team sits in 10th place out of 14.

Southwestern finished at 49 over par for the day and are just ten strokes out of eighth place. Just fourteen strokes separates first through eighth place.

First-year Sean Madera led the Pirates, finishing at seven over par (79) to finish tied for 16th and just four shots out of first. Ricky Jones followed shooting an eleven over par 83 and tied for 32nd.

The Pirates resume action at the Invitational on Tuesday.
