2011

Gavrel started 29 of the 30 contests he appeared in this season. In 108 at bats he recorded 33 hits, five doubles and a team high eight homeruns while scoring 18 times and driving in a team high 32 RBI's. Gavrel also drew 14 walks, tied for second most on the team.

2010 (First-Year)

In his first season with the Pirates, Gavrel played in 37 games starting 34 times...had 28 hits in 119 plate appearances...recorded nine doubles and hit two homeruns...had a total of 22 runs batted in while leading the conference in runners caught stealing during the regular season.  Johnny was also a member of the 2010 SCAC Student Athlete Academic Honor Roll. 

High School

Johnny, a graduate of Taylor High School in Katy, TX, was a 1st team All-District utility player selection for his work as a catcher and a 3rd baseman.

Personal

Johnny is the son of Pete and Cheryl and has one brother, Tommy.  Johnny is an accounting major at SU.
