Women's Golf Notches Second Consecutive Third-Place Finish

KINGSLAND, Texas – The Southwestern University Women's Golf team recorded its second consecutive third-place finish after carding a two-round score of 619 (317, 302) to finish third out of 12 teams at the Texas Legends Cup. The Pirates played 18 holes Monday and 18 more Tuesday at the Legends Golf Club to complete the event. SU was able to cut 15 strokes off its Monday score on Tuesday. 
 
Jasari Cortez paced the Pirates as she finished tied for 10th out of 71 players after carding a 152 (81, 71). Sydney Jackson posted a 156 (80, 76) two-round score to finish tied for 15th.
 
Emily York found herself within the top-25 after she finish tied for 22nd with a 158 (81, 77). Anna Apisarnthanarax finished tied for 40th with a 167 (75, 92), while Addi Pierce finished one stroke back with a 168 (90, 78) to finish tied for 43rd.

The Southwestern B team finished in 11th place. Evita Karlin and Sarah Pace both fired a 134 to finish tied for 36th.

UP NEXT
Southwestern will be back in action Oct. 12-13 as they travel to San Antonio to compete in the Carla Spenkoch Invitational, hosted by Trinity University at The Quarry Golf Course.
