DESTIN, FLORIDA – Competing in their final tournament of the fall season, the Southwestern University Women's Golf team finished in 13^th place finish out of 24 teams in the Golfweek October Classic. The Pirates competed in three rounds Sunday through Tuesday at the Links Golf Club at Sandestin, finishing with a three-round total of 972.
 
The Pirates had two players finish in the top half of the 120-player field, as Emily York led the way for SU, finishing tied for 42^nd after carding a 239 (84, 78, 77). Sydney Jackson joined York in the top half of the field as she shot a 243 (90, 78, 75) to finish tied for 54^th. Jackson's seven birdies led the Pirates lineup, with four coming during round three on Tuesday.
 
Anna Apisarnthanarax finished tied for 62^nd after recording a 245 (79, 84, 82). Addi Pierce carded a 252 (84, 83, 85) to finish tied for 78^th, while Jasari Cortez finished two strokes back with a 254 (83, 85, 86) to round out SU's lineup tied for 86^th.
 
Mary-Hardin Baylor won the event with an 889, followed by Macalester College in second with a 919.
