GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Soccer sophomore goalkeeper TJ Bass was honored as this week's SAA Defensive Player of the Week. Bass held strong between the pipes this weekend, after earning two wins and no goals allowed.

The Pirates have started the season 6-1 and currently sport a five-game winning streak. Their success is largely driven by four consecutive team shutouts and confident play from Bass. His outstanding .852 save percentage, with only four goals allowed all year has given the Pirates everything they need to succeed. The goalkeeper posted three saves against Nebraska Wesleyan University and five saves against Concordia University Texas on Sunday. 

Bass has amassed 23 saves, marking an impressive beginning for the first-year starter. He has also been supported by outstanding defenders, including Cooper Pero, Amar Singh, Chase Johnson, Connor Gritzmacher, Ross Anderson, and many others.
