Men's Basketball Embarks On New Era In 2025-26

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Basketball officially announced the full 2025-26 schedule which is only five days out. The squad hosts Dallas Christian College on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The Pirates are under a completely new coaching staff as the Matt Streich era begins. Streich joins the Pirates from Colorado College, bringing on assistant coach Charlie Reznikoff who coached with him on the Maccabi USA U18 team and has professional playing experience. Assistant coach Will Cohen joins the staff after coaching alongside Streich at Colorado College. The final addition to the staff was former Texas A&M Aggie standout Tonny Trocha who has also played professionally.  

Southwestern hosts four non-conference games starting with the home opener against Dallas Christian College (Nov. 8). The other non-conference opportunities to see the Pirates are against East Texas Baptist (Nov. 29), Texas Lutheran University (Dec. 5), and McMurry University (Dec. 15). 

The road non-conference trips feature University of the Ozarks (Nov. 14), Hendrix College (Nov. 16), Texas Lutheran (Nov. 21), Howard Payne (Nov. 25), Schreiner University (Dec. 3), University of Dallas (Dec. 19), and Austin College (Dec. 20). 

January begins the 14-game SAA battle. The SAA home games are Berry College (Jan. 9), Oglethorple University (Jan. 11), Centre College (Jan. 23), Sewanee (Jan. 25), Millsaps (Feb. 6), Rhodes College (Feb. 8), and Trinity University (Feb. 21). 

The road conference games feature Trinity (Jan. 3), Millsaps (Jan. 16), Rhodes (Jan. 18), Centre (Jan. 30), Sewanee (Feb. 1), Berry (Feb. 13), and Oglethorpe (Feb. 15). Then, the SAA tournament takes place at Berry College on February 26-28.
