GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - In their inaugural season competing in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), the Southwestern University volleyball team made an immediate impact—earning six All-SAA honors and finishing the regular season as the No. 2 team in the conference with a 19-7 overall record and an 11-3 mark in SAA play.

Freshman outside hitter Tatum Ahrens and junior middle blocker Kendall Jurgens highlighted the Pirates' selections, both earning First Team All-SAA honors for their standout performances throughout the season.

Ahrens made an immediate impression in her first collegiate season, leading the team in kills and providing a consistent offensive spark for the Pirates. Jurgens anchored the front line with dominant net play, ranking among the conference leaders in blocks while contributing heavily to Southwestern's offensive rhythm.

Southwestern also landed two Second Team All-SAA honorees: senior right side Emily Marks and sophomore defensive specialist/libero Izzy Rodriguez. Marks brought veteran leadership and power on the right side, while Rodriguez anchored the back row with elite defensive play and steady passing that helped drive the Pirates' success.

Senior setter Annika Flora earned Honorable Mention All-SAA recognition after orchestrating one of the league's most balanced offenses, showcasing her experience and leadership throughout the season.

Rounding out the accolades, senior middle blocker Lily McWhorter was named to the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team, recognized for her leadership, integrity, and positive representation of Southwestern both on and off the court.

Head Coach Don Flora praised the team's collective achievement:

"To have six players recognized in our first year in the SAA says a lot about the talent, work ethic, and culture of this group," Flora said. "I'm so proud of how they represented Southwestern and how they've set the standard for our program moving forward."

With a strong showing in their first SAA campaign and a roster blending veteran leadership with rising young talent, the Pirates have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in their new conference home.
