GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Football junior defensive back Cam Roberson won a pair of awards this week for his game-changing performance in the 39-31 win over Sewanee. On Monday, Roberson garnered SAA Defensive Player of the Week. The honors continued as the junior was named the D3Football National Defensive Back of the Week.

Roberson joins senior Maurion Williams-Jack as the second Pirate to win the SAA honor, along with becoming the second player this season to win the national D3Football honor alongside freshman punter Chase Lanham

The native of Galveston, Texas was a menace to the Tigers offense flipping the field twice with a pair of interceptions in crucial moments, along with another interception to deny a Tiger two-point conversion. Sewanee had scored 14 consecutive points to take a four-point lead before Roberson's first interception changed the momentum and led to a Pirates score.

Sewanee scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter with a chance to the tie the game on the two-point conversion before Roberson picked off the Tigers on the attempt, an interception which does not go down as such in the box score according to the NCAA's statistical guidelines. Finally, Sewanee had another chance late to go tie the game. The junior stopped the Tigers once again with a game clinching interception for his second of the game.
