Men's Golf Finishes In 8th At Golfweek Invitational

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Golf recently competed in the Golfweek Invitational tournament played in Miramar, Florida. The Pirates played 54 holes over three days, shooting scores of 283, 287, and 284, finishing in 8th place out of 24 teams. This tournament outcome sparks momentum for the Pirates as they head into their last tournament of the season. 

Men's Golf is currently receiving votes for the top 25. Golfweek was an exceptional tournament for the Pirates to compete in considering multiple top 25 ranked teams were amongst the competition. After the final round of Golfweek, the Pirates had beaten 11 teams that are ranked top 25 nationally!

The Pirates were led by sophomore Ricky Mitchell who finished in T20th place firing rounds of 73, 70, 69 (-1). Following him was senior Matthew Peesker shooting rounds of 70, 74, 69 (E) who finished in T28th place. Junior Ethan Bridges finished in T33rd place with rounds of 68, 72, 74 (+1), next in T56th place was freshman William Suell who put up rounds of 72, 74, 72 (+5). Rounding out the Pirates was senior Bryce Stiemert who carded rounds of 74, 71, 74 (+6), where he finished in T68th place.
