Pirates Fall to Loyola, Birmingham-Southern

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Southwestern University women's swimming fell to Loyola and Birmingham-Southern throughout Friday and Saturday at the University Sports Complex on the campus of Loyola University (La.).

The Wolfpack defeated the the Pirates 204-98 while the Panthers picked up a 196-115 win.

The Pirates got an excellent showing in the 200 breast as sophomore Teresa Cropper and freshman Rehgan Hartsell finsihed 1-2 in the event with Cropper finishing with a time of 2:04.63 while Hartsell came in at 2:27.80. Hartsell also got a win in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.72 and placed se ond in the 200 IM at 2:17.24. Freshman Breely Peterson placed second in the 200 fly with at ime of 2:23.50.

The team of freshman Kate Russell, junior Cara Chin, Peterson, and Hartsell took a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.82.

Southwestern will return to action on November 4th as they will compete in their annual Black & Gold Intrasquad beginning at 10 AM.
