2014
Irvin closed her senior season with the fourth highest batting average, .337. She started all 28 games she played in, recording 28 hits with seven doubles and three home runs, second most on the team. She scored seven times and had a perfect fielding percentage with ten assists and two putouts. Irvin also spent some time on the mound, making 13 appearances. In 27.1 innings of work she allowed 28 earned runs for a 9.55 ERA, allowing 37 hits while walking 32 and striking out 19. Irvin had her best outing offensively against Schreiner University on March 9th, recording three hits, but drove in five runs against Pacific on February 9th. She was the SCAC Hitter of the Week the first week of the season and was a First Team All-SCAC selection. Irvin closes her career as the SU record holder in RBIs in a game (7).

At the plate, Irvin posted a .377 batting average with 58 hits in 154 at bats. She had eight doubles and three homeruns while scoring 25 times and recording 41 RBIs, third most on the team. Irvin made 21 appearances on the mound and posted a 5.05 era. In 62.1 innings of work she allowed 48 runs, 45 earned, on 60 hits while walking 63 and striking out 48. Irvin had her best game of the season at the plate against Centenary College on March 23rd, going 3-5 with three runs scored, two homeruns and a season-high seven RBIs. She was a First Team All-SCAC designated player.
2012 (Sophomore)
Irvin appeared in 24 games for the Pirates. In 46 plate appearances, she had 12 hits and batted in five runs. Irvin ended the season with a .261 batting average.
2011 (First-year)
Irvin had the fourth highest batting average on the team in her first season with the Pirates. In 136 at bats she recorded 43 hits for a .316 batting average. Irvin was tops in homeruns (9) and tied for first in RBI's (34). For her efforts she was an All-SCAC First Team and SCAC All-Tournament Team selection.
High School
Kayla was a three time All District selection at two different positions during her high school career.
Personal
She is the daughter of Fred and Mary Beth and has two siblings, Marissa and Casey. Kayla is undecided as to her major at SU.
