Hall of Fame Induction Criteria 


About the Southwestern University Athletic Hall of Fame
The Southwestern University Athletic Hall of Fame honors individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to Southwestern Athletics. Inductees have demonstrated excellence as athletes, coaches, administrators, or associates, and have represented the ideals of intercollegiate athletics and the high standards of Southwestern University.

Recipients are recognized for their outstanding achievements, sportsmanship, integrity, and lasting impact on the Southwestern community.

Eligibility and Selection of Criteria

Nominees must fall into one of the following categories:
  • Athletes: Must have completed their collegiate participation at least five (5) years prior to induction, competed in a recognized varsity sport for at least one year, and demonstrated exceptional performance, sportsmanship, and integrity.
  • Coaches: Must have completed their coaching service at least three (3) years prior to induction and exemplify the sportsmanship of character expected of Southwestern leaders.
  • Athletic Directors/Administrators: Must have completed administrative service at least three (3) years prior to induction and demonstrated commitment to Southwestern's athletic excellence.
  • Associates: Individuals who have significantly advanced Southwestern Athletics through loyalty, dedication, and service.
  • Teams: Must have brought distinction to Southwestern through national-level performance of outstanding seasonal accomplishments and completed the year of recognition at least five (5) years prior to induction.
No more than three individuals and one team will be inducted in any given year. Only one posthumous inductee and one coach/athletic director or associate may be selected per cycle. Induction ceremonies are held during even-numbered years.
